I want to utalize time the best we can today. I'd like to just get started with the skin care and while we leave the mask on for a few minutes I will explain what sets Sense apart from products in the skin care market. First: How would you rate your skin: Oily, Combination, Dry, Normal? Skin Sensitivity? Is your skin sensitive, ultra sensitive or not at all?What skin charateristics would you change about your face? Blotchiness, uneven skin tones, dullness, fine lines and wrinkles and/or congested pores or Dehydration?


I ask these so I can explain as I go how to best help you and your condition.


Your skin is the largest organ of your body. It is the only one that is exposed both extrinsicly and intrisicly. For Intrinsic health you would want to be on a High Quality Dietary Supplement: USANA's Essentials; a Omega 3 and 6 oil capulse: USANA's BiOmega; A grape-seed extract for antioxidants: USANA's Proflavanol 90.



For Extrinisic health we start with:


Gentle Daily Cleanser: This is a soap free formula that washes away surface dirt and impurities without drying your skin. This is the first step in hydrating your skin. All products are designed to increase the overall health of your skin's cellular health and all work together to do so.


Rice Bran Polisher: To gently exfoliate dead surface cells frm teh skin for a glowing complexion. Have you used an exfoliant? Many use sand, seashells, walnut shells, shells from fruit nuts and others. These do help to exfoliate dead surface cells but can damage the healthy living cells underneath. This exfoliant uses natural occuring rice bran beadlets that sooths, smooths and cleanses the skin. It also hydrates your skin.



Nutritious Creme Masque: Removes impurities and leave skin feeling firm. This will not harden or dry out. We want to leave this on for 15-20 minutes for best results. This masque hydrates and nurishes the skin as it is the best opportunity to do so becouse of the extended time it is left on your face.

You want to exfoliate and use the masque 3 times a week.

While we leave that on your face for a few minutes I want to explain what is so unique about Sense.

First it is our patented Self Preserving Technology. This is found exclusively in USANA's Skin care line Sense's Beautiful Science. All the functional ingredients of a formula as well as the manufacturing and packaging are combined to become the preserving system.


The use of preservatives is required to prevent product damage caused by bacteria and to
protect the product from contamination by the consumer during use.

Parabens (PHBA), are used as preservatives in over 13,000 cosmetic formulations.
Concerns are being expressed by researchers that there is evidence of parabens acting as artificial estrogen disrupts normal hormone function. British researchers have found traces of parabens in tissue taken from women with breast cancer.

To test the preserving agent in skin care they have to follow a test lasting 28 days. The product is injected with mirco-organisms such as bacteria and mold and it has 28 days to reverse and kill those microbial organisms. Sense passed this test not once but twice in a row.

The preserving ingredients are not the only ingredients that may be harmful. One I would like to touch briefly on is Mineral Oil (petroleum, petrolatum), which is in many skin care products such as cleansing creams, moisturizers, eye creams, body lotions, foundations and others. Because it does not rinse off the skin readily ti can build up. It leaches vitamins A, D and E from the skin and can leave side effects such as black heads, white heads and tiny bumps just under the skin surface.

Daytime Protective Emulsion: This moiturizer will hydrate will defending against the environement. This is designed to protect against UVB damage as well during the day.

Night Renewal Creme: Replenishes skin's moisture levels overnight while optimizing cellular recovery. Our skin cells come alive at night and replenish themselves. This is designed to aide in that process.

GLYCEMIC INDEX: WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU The glycemic index is a way of measuring the rate at which carbohydrates are broken down and appear in the blood as simple sugars. Those foods that result in a rapid rise in blood sugar have a high-glycemic index. Carbohydrates that are broken down slowly and cause only a moderate increase in blood sugar have a low-glycemic index. Some carbohydrates fall in between.

High-glycemic foods provide quick energy, but it is usually short lived and hunger soon returns. Low-glycemic foods provide greater satiety and sustained energy, which makes eating less and losing weight easier.

High-glycemic diets also have been linked to obesity, type II diabetes, insulin resistance, and heart disease. Virtually all convenience foods and many meal replacement and diet products on the market today are unfortunately, high glycemic.3
